Program & Administrative Staff

A lifelong Lutheran, Pastor Dan has served ELCA congregations and institutions his entire life. He holds degrees from Creighton University, Wartburg Theological Seminary, and Augustana College (Rock Island). He also works as a spiritual director and retreat director. He was a 2011 recipient of the Quad Cities' Influential Leaders Under 40 by the Blackhawk College Foundation.

Carol Curry serves as the parish nurse through Trinity Hospital's Parish Nurse Program. Carol received her nursing education at the former Lutheran Hospital in Moline and has worked in Trinity's Parish Nurse Program since 1991. She received her nurse's cap at First Lutheran over 40 years ago! Carol makes pastoral calls to members of the congregation who are in need and she hosts a grief support group called Strength For the Journey.

Steve Steely has worked as a professional church musician for over forty years.  At First Lutheran he directs the vocal choir and bell choirs, and serves as organist.  He also works at Temple Emanuel, St. Pius X Catholic Church, and at several area funeral homes.  He is a frequent recitalist.
   
Eileen Walters serves as the parish secretary, greeting people who come to First Lutheran and answering the phones during office hours. When she is not greeting people, she is busy preparing all the printed material that is produced in the parish.
