Staff of First Lutheran Church
A lifelong Lutheran, Pastor Dan has served ELCA congregations and institutions his entire life. He holds degrees from Creighton University, Wartburg Theological Seminary, and Augustana College (Rock Island). He also works as a spiritual director and retreat director.

Stephen Steely serves as Minister of Music and has worked as a professional church musician for over fifty years. At First Lutheran, he is the organist and directs both the vocal and bell choirs. He also works at St. Pius X Catholic Church and at several area funeral homes. He is a frequent recitalist.

Carol Curry serves as the parish nurse. She was educated at the former Lutheran Hospital in Moline, received her nurse’s cap at First Lutheran, and has been a parish nurse since 1991. Carol makes pastoral calls to members of the congregation who are in need and she hosts a grief support group called “Strength for the Journey”.

Debbie Coffman serves as the parish secretary, greeting people who come to First Lutheran and answering the phones during office hours. When she is not greeting people, she is busy preparing all the printed material that is produced in the parish.

Our mission is to worship God, to serve others, to support one another,
and to invite all people to share in this Christian ministry.
